cherokee tube doors

summer is upon us so its time for the doors on the xj to come off. i felt like adding some tube doors. went to the junkyard on half price day and picked up 2 s10 blazer tire carriers for 9 bucks each. this is what ive done so far...
cut off the brakets and remove the latch to use later.
moked up the frame and cut the ends off
made the hinge from some angle iron and 1/4 bolts
welded the frame to the hinge
welded the old latch on
checking the fit
finshed for now. most people use the old latch handle in the first pic to release the door but i dont like the look of it. so for now this is how it sits.
