The progression of LuLu
This thread is not so much to show off my shit, as it is a visual progression of what I've done so far.
The day I brought her home
First addition, Smittybilt CRES
Next add on, a home made tool box
Then some homemade quick disconnects
After that, I decided it needed a black front end
and a little more black on the hood
then I chopped the front bumper and added a light bar with 2 100W KC's
I picked up some Poison Spyder rear trail corners
and added a couple ammo cans for storage
then finally got some better wheels and tires. The Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs made a WORLD of difference!
Changed out the front bumper for a Smittybilt SRC
Somewhere along the way, I trimmed an inch off of the fender flares and painted them black, and upgraded the stereo system. No pics of that.
reserving the next space to add more stuff.....

Today, I drove all the way up to NW Peoria to get a Kargo Master Congo Cage. Found it on Craigslist for $200. Brand new, they are $340, plus shipping. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Nice job. I really like those duatrac tires. My dad runs them and they do well.

Thanks. Yeah, I love the tires! Haven't had them off road yet. I guess I'll break their cherry at Hackberry next weekend!

Thanks. It's amazing what you can do with a couple cans of Krylon! She's got the 4.0 I6 engine and 42RLE 4 speed auto tranny.

I made an On Board Air system tonight. I got a 12V 150psi air pump from Harbor Freight and mounted it where the ABS pump would be if I had ABS. It's got a 10 foot chord to run the aligator clips to the battery, and a 20 foot coil air hose, enough to reach all 4 tires. And everything tucks in nicely under the hood.

Looks good. Something u might want to think about is how hot the engine compartment gets after a day on the trail. I had my compressor mounted the same way. I found that it would overheat quickly because it was hot from driving. I ended up relocating it to solve that.

Thanks. Yeah, I considered that. I figure I'll give it a try like this, if it does get too hot, I'll take it out and just keep it in it's little storage bag.

Yeah they get real hot under the hood but then again your not in an XJ so it might not be so bad, hell ours get hot just sitting there with the engine off

The TJs get pretty hot under the hood too. But I've seen several other TJs running this type of set up. I guess we'll see tomorrow how it works out.

Re: The progression of LuLu
my 99 and 01 tjs ran a hell of a lot cooler than any xj I've been around.
Re: The progression of LuLu
Well, the compressor did overheat while airing up the tires. I had to shut it off for a minute or two, and then it was good to go again. No big deal, after running that trail, I needed an extra beer break anyways!

Re: The progression of LuLu
I got it from jeepaddons.com, but I got a special price through a guy on Wranglerforum.com. The winch is $289 with free shipping. I got the winch, winch plate, tree saver strap and two D-ring shackles for $377 to the door. Here's the link: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f123/engo-winch-sale-9k-winch-for-only-289-with-free-shipping-102100.html
You gotta call and talk to Chris.

Re: The progression of LuLu
I upgraded my reverse lights. I used these Optronics 55w driving lights from Walmart, $19.48, and installed them in my taillight assembly where the reverse bulb was.
They are a hell of a lot brighter than the factory set up. They shine through the OEM lens and spread the light nicely.
Here's a couple night time pics. It's hard to get good pictures at night, this is parked about 50 feet from a brick wall, flash turned off, standing beside the Jeep.
